Was Guitar Legend Jimi Hendrix Murdered By His Manager?

Rock Roadie book coverA new book called Rock Roadie out next month, penned by James ‘Tappy’ Wright, one of Jimi Hendrix roadies at the time, claims that Hendrix was stuffed with pills and drowned with red wine by his then-manager Michael Jeffrey who feared the superstar rocker was going to leave him for new management.

Recounting a confession by the manager a year later, Wright claims it was part of an insurance scam that could only be successfully rewarded if the singer’s death appeared to be self-induced, or in other words, a suicide.

Jeffrey died in a plane crash several years later.

The 304 page memoir which also covers Wright’s days with The Animals, Elvis and Tina Turner will be released by JR Books Ltd. June 25, 2009.
