Nate Currin music artist - promo shot 1

Nate Currin’s recordings could be taken as a sort of thrift shop treasure trove – moving from cabaret inspired fare like “Vanity Fair,” to rough-around the edges but heart-warming acoustic folk like “Coast to Coast” that could headline any night at Hollywood’s Hotel Cafe, to slick and pop radio ready electro-rock hybrids like “Goodnight California.” This is an artist who follows his whims and executes each new musical experiment as if he owns its very blueprints.

Originally from the South and currently living in San Francisco, Currin will reach even deeper into his story-telling bag of tricks with the release of his second full-length, studio album in the summer of 2013. The new album, The Pilgrim is an 18-song concept (story) album based on a book written in the 1600’s that tells of a man on a journey from this world to a celestial kingdom. The album is already receiving rave reviews from those who have heard it, and the music video for Vanity Fair is set to drop the first of June.

“I am so excited about this project” Currin says, “I truly believe that this writing and the project as a whole is the best writing and creativity that I’ve done to date. It’s been a long road, but with prodding from fans and perseverance, I was able to finish The Pilgrim after 5 years of working on it.

I am curious to see how people receive a story type album like this… I really believe it will connect with listeners – not just intellectually but in their heart. Because we’re all on that journey… we’re all living this life, making choices, enduring the hardships and enjoying the blessings.”

Nate has been performing throughout the US for the last 6 years, building a solid fan base yet one that is very grassroots. With over 300 shows under his belt and thousands of album sales, this summer’s tour should do nothing but bolster his already excited fan base. This summer, in support of the new album, Nate will embark on a 60 city US Tour covering some 26 states and approximately 6,000 miles in 3 months. The tour will kick off June 6 from Nate’s home state of Georgia with a show in Atlanta at Vinyl, then moving West from there.

The Pilgrim is set to drop nationally on August 6, but will be available at shows on the tour starting June 6 in Atlanta. Laura Goldfarb of Red Boot Publicity has described the new album like this: “The Pilgrim is like an old leather bound book. You blow the dust off of it and inside you reveal the kind of story that you want to curl up next to a fire with and let the responsibilities of life drift away and your imagination run wild.”
