Live Review: mr. Gnome at Silverlake Lounge

Week Of Shows, Episode Three

The benefit of the Week Of Shows is that even when you witness a stiff event such as Beach House at Spaceland, there are plenty of other shows to make up for it. And fortunately, earlier that same night, Cleveland’s mr. Gnome graced the Silverlake Lounge.

You might suggest that reviewing a band that whose live show has already been covered this year here at Music Zeitgeist would be unnecessary, particularly with a wealth of other performing artists to choose from.  And you’d be right.  But this is the Week Of Shows, after all.  So shut up.

That's Mister mr. Gnome to you: Brielle and Meister at the Silverlake Lounge.

That's Mister mr. Gnome to you: Brielle and Meister at the Silverlake Lounge.

There’s not much to add to our previous review of mr. Gnome (which can be found HERE), other than to mention that as per this writer’s musing a few months ago, a more appreciative crowd was indeed to be found on this city’s east side, with an audience more than double the size of that from their last show in L.A. (on a Tuesday, no less).  No one appeared present by mistake, and nearly everyone possessed a “right on” head nod as mr. Gnome plowed through their set, tighter and more intense than ever.  At the conclusion of their performance, an encore was called for – an unlike in Beach House’s case, it was entirely warranted.
