Flaming Lips will release a new double album titled “Embryonic.” Frontman Wayne Coyne told Rolling Stone “We want to go in so many strange directions and sometimes we’re unfocused and sometimes we’re just so wishy-washy.”
In 1997 FLips released “Zaireeka,” four albums meant to be played simultaneously, and in 2001 shot a bizarre feature length film titled “Christmas on Mars”, so putting out a double album isn’t exactly a stretch for the fearless freaks from Oklahoma.
Embryonic is set for release September, 2009.
